What we do.

  • Collaborate with deans, associate deans, department chairs/heads and faculty.
  • Oversee recruitment related processes including training, monitoring searches, and hiring of academic faculty to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, rules and regulations regarding employment.
  • Responsible for supplying administrative support and guidance for Faculty, Coaches, Librarians (Unit R03) as well as academic student employees including Teaching Associates, Graduate Assistants, and Instructional Student Assistants (Unit R11).
  • Manage academic labor matters including grievances and arbitrations.
  • Provide compliance and interpretation regarding the CSU-CFA (California Faculty Association) Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
  • Administer administrative processing for RPT (retention, promotion, and tenure), hires/rehires of Unit 3 and 11 employees, salary adjustments, faculty leaves, Faculty Early Retirement Program (FERP), resignations, etc.
